These guys we are working with right now will be 2 this spring. We will saddle them a few more times, maybe sit on them a time or two, then turn them out until late next summer. It's a lot easier right now while we are still kind of bigger than them, and makes things so much nicer when we go to get on them next summer. =)
Yeah, Bullseye is so fat, there's no way the Cowboss could have stayed in the middle of him with that saddle turning! This way, when we are ready to really start riding them they will realize that its not that scary and they don't have to buck!
wow, he's a rough guy! Thankfully my horse didn't have a bucking fit when I put the saddle on her for the first time:-)
ReplyDeleteHe's not that bad. He actually gave it up pretty quickly and has been a perfect gentleman everytime we've saddled him since then!
DeleteThat's cool! I've only put a saddle on my horse once, I don't want to do it to much since she's only 2 years and isn't fully grown.
